1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest innovation is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to identify objects like charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, so that you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills effortlessly, leaving no trace that it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app, which lets you schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.
The design is also superior to the other models. It features a sleek, top piece that resembles toys rather than the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
The j7+, though not as smart as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and can't clean the stairs, is still an option for those who require both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a long time to download updates, and often it's difficult to know whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but usually lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't disappoint. It's their most affordable auto-empty model. While best automatic vacuum cleaner 's not equipped with some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like wall legs and table legs, which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a area where most robot vacuums of lower quality aren't able to meet. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few missing in corners and on walls.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. Through the app, you can start and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this machine easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also has an impressive LCD display that is great to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, but it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and features are among the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. The station's main selling point is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the only robovac I've used that has done well at picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning area for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do it all.
If you're looking to cut costs or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and provides an identical experience on the app with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac g30
Eufy is an Anker company with an established track record of making robot vacuums with the right combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet flooring, and mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to set up, simply attach one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock close to an electrical outlet and enough space for it to move around however.
The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, so it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious compared to some rival models. It features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The primary aspect that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to make an image of the unmovable items in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.
The sleek G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged more quickly and has the same battery life, while providing better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as frequently and comes with an array of boundaries that ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 on the other hand is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with heavy materials like cereal.
